Congratulations to your new family member!! Here is some recommendation tips from groomer.

When you just got Puppy or about to get Puppy

I know this is loooong but really important! Please read if you just/about get puppy😊

1. Search
⭐️Contact vet first. Book your first visit for your puppy for Health check up and vaccination! *Ask vet roughly when your pup all done vaccinations when you make an appointment.

2.Contact groomers
Ask to groomer if they are accepting new clients. *Please remember if you have large breed, not all groomer accept big dogs.

⭐️Book first appointment for bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, sanitary shave and around eye trim one week after your puppy finish all vaccinations! Plan haircut appointment as second time grooming. This is the best order to have your pup get used to groomer. Puppy needs to stand/stay still on the table for long time for haircut. We think this is too much for puppy’s first visit.

⭐️Have your dog get used to brush and body touched(We can help you choose right brush for your puppy! Feel free to contact us to get assistance of tool choosing. Don’t you think groomers know better about grooming tools than pet store assistances😉?)
⭐️Talk and decide about other than grooming as well with all family members. (Walk, feed, play, obedience etc)

3.Family meeting
Talk about
-How much time your family can spend to maintain your puppy’s coat.
-How much is your family’s budget for your puppy. Caliculate the cost for your puppy such as Vet fee, food, treats, monthly flea&tick preventative, grooming.
-What is your family’s life style
Your dog will go beach? Hike? Play daily in yard?

Hint⭐️Long hairstyle is higher cost & maintenance

Fluffy haircut
-Need daily brushing at home
-Need best quality tools and products
-Grooming cost  more
-Need frequent visit to groomer(4-5 weeks)

Short haircut
-Brushing needs 1-2 times a week(mostly ears and tail)
-Grooming cost drop compare with long haircut
-Need visit to groomer 5-8 weeks

4. Adjust the plan
⭐️It’s okay to change original plan anytime!
Talk and get advice from your groomer if you have any questions!

Let’s have multiple family meeting and find better/best option for your dog and family🥰

Even your dog doesn’t need haircut, sooner visit to groomer and every 5-8 weeks grooming is best!

If you are not sure what tools you need for your dog or how to brush your dog, contact us. We help you to choose right tools and proper brushing!! It’s very important to use right tools for your puppy! If you use wrong tools, it can give puppy pain or discomfort which makes lifetime grooming so hard😱

Consider grooming add-on for your dog’s regular grooming to keep good skin and coat condition!! Prevention is important rather than act after any skin/coat issue happens.Â
